Submitting a family event
Know a great family event? You can add it to the community calendar for other families to find. Anyone with a free, verified account can submit one.
What you can submit
The calendar is for public, family-friendly events — festivals, fairs, shows, story times, fundraisers, and the like. Events are text and links only (no image uploads). You can post an in-person event with a venue, or a virtual event with a join link.
What you'll provide
From your dashboard, choose Submit an event and fill in:
- Title and description of the event.
- Date and time, and whether it's in person or online.
- Where — the venue address (we place it on a map) or, for virtual events, the join link.
- Event type, suggested ages, and admission cost (free, a set price, a range, or "varies").
- For a fundraiser, who it benefits.
Events that repeat
If your event happens on a schedule — every Saturday, the first Monday of the month, and so on — set Repeats when you submit it. Choose daily, weekly (on the days you pick), or monthly, how often, and an optional end date. The calendar then shows your event on its next upcoming date, and its page lists the dates coming up. You manage the whole series as one event.
Adding co-planners
Planning with someone else? On your event's edit page you can add a co-planner by their username — "can view" lets them see it before it's public, and "can edit" lets them help manage it. They'll get a notification. You stay the owner, and only you can remove the event or manage co-planners.
Adding a lot of events at once
Community organizers on a paid plan can import many events from a spreadsheet at once — look for "Import from a spreadsheet" on your My events page. Download the template, fill in one event per row, and you'll get a preview to check before anything is created.
Adding photos
Once your event is created, open it under My events to add a photo — a great way to show families what to expect. Adding or changing a photo sends the event back for a quick re-review, so it briefly drops off the calendar until approved again.
Review before it goes live
Submitted events go to our team for a quick review against our content standards before they appear on the public calendar — usually within one to two business days. You can preview your own event while it's pending.
Editing and removing
Manage everything under My events in your dashboard. Editing an event sends it back for a quick re-review; you can also withdraw an event to remove it from the calendar. Please only submit real events you have accurate details for.
