Family-Friendly Events is a directory that families and event planners trust to find vendors who are genuinely good with kids and families. These Community Standards explain what we expect from everyone who uses the site — families leaving reviews, vendors building profiles, and anyone taking part in the community. They sit alongside our Content Policy and Terms of Service; where the Content Policy sets the formal rules for what may be published, this page explains the spirit behind them in plain language. These Standards are a plain-language summary and do not create rights or obligations beyond those documents — if anything here appears to conflict with the Content Policy or the Terms of Service, those documents control.
Be honest
- Reviews reflect real experiences. Only review a vendor you actually hired or worked with. Don't post reviews for a business you own, compete with, or were paid to praise.
- Profiles describe real businesses. Vendors should represent their services, pricing, and family-friendly practices accurately. Don't claim credentials, awards, or amenities you don't have.
- No fake engagement. Buying, trading, or soliciting reviews — positive or negative — is not allowed.
Be respectful
- Keep it civil. Criticism of a service is welcome; personal attacks, harassment, hate speech, and threats are not.
- Respect privacy. Don't post other people's personal information, photos of children who aren't yours, or private communications without consent.
- Disagree fairly. A vendor may reply to a review to add context, but may not pressure, threaten, or retaliate against a reviewer. Retaliation — such as harassment, threats, or misuse of a reviewer's personal information, on or off the platform — can lead to enforcement action up to account closure.
Keep it family-appropriate
This is a directory built around family events. Content that is sexually explicit, graphically violent, or otherwise inappropriate for a family audience — as detailed in our Content Policy — has no place here, even in contexts where it might be allowed elsewhere.
Protecting children
We take the safety of children seriously. Content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits a minor is removed immediately and reported to the appropriate authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as required by law.
How we enforce these standards
Our moderation team reviews reported content and may hide or remove anything that breaks these standards or our Content Policy. Depending on severity and history, we may issue a warning, remove content, or restrict or close an account. We aim to be fair and consistent, and to explain our decisions where we reasonably can.

About these standards
These Community Standards are informational and are governed by our Content Policy and Terms of Service, which are the binding documents and control in any conflict. As between those two, the Terms of Service is the overarching agreement and the Content Policy (which the Terms of Service incorporate) governs the specifics of what may be published — the Content Policy controls on content and moderation questions, and the Terms of Service controls otherwise. Those documents contain the operative provisions — including the license you grant for content you post, indemnification, the limitation of our liability (including for moderation decisions), governing law, our copyright / DMCA notice-and-takedown process, and our right to update our policies. We may update these Standards as our policies evolve; the effective date shown on this page identifies the current version.
