Terms of Service
Effective 2026-07-30
Family-Friendly Events LLC 760 Warrior Dr., Suite 2-512, Stephens City, VA 22655 Email: [email protected]
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at familyfriendlyevents.com and any related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Family-Friendly Events LLC ("Family-Friendly Events," "we," "our," or "us"), a Virginia limited liability company.
By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
1.1 Age
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you are 18 or older. We do not knowingly provide accounts to minors. The Service is a general audience service for adults and is not directed to children under 13. Account registration requires you to affirm that you are 18 years of age or older, and our treatment of children's information is described in the Children's Privacy section of our Privacy Policy.
1.2 Geographic scope and intended audience
The Service is operated from the United States and is directed to users located in the United States. We do not target, market, or direct the Service to residents of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Canada, or any other jurisdiction outside the United States. The Service is designed to comply with United States federal law and the law of the Commonwealth of Virginia; it is not designed to comply with the data-protection, consumer-protection, advertising, tax, or other laws of jurisdictions outside the United States.
If you choose to access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and at your own risk, and you are solely responsible for compliance with the laws of your local jurisdiction. By creating an account you represent that you are either located in the United States or, if outside the United States, that you are accessing the Service voluntarily and without any expectation that the Service is directed to you or subject to the law of your jurisdiction.
2. Account Types
The Service supports two account types:
Client accounts are for families, individuals, and event planners who use the Service to discover, save, contact, and review vendors. A professional event planner may hold both a Client account and a Vendor account simultaneously.
Vendor accounts are for businesses and individuals who provide family-friendly event services (including but not limited to DJs, entertainers, venues, photo booths, caterers, and photographers) and who wish to be listed in the directory. Vendor accounts are available only to businesses (a) organized under the laws of a United States jurisdiction, (b) operating from a verifiable United States business address, and (c) holding a valid United States tax identification number (EIN, SSN for sole proprietors, or ITIN). By creating a Vendor account you represent that your business meets these requirements and that you primarily provide services to clients located in the United States. A US-based Vendor may offer services that include international destinations (such as destination weddings or international tours) provided that the Vendor itself remains a United States business.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. The Service
Family-Friendly Events operates a vendor directory that connects families and event planners with vendors who specialize in family-friendly events. We are a marketplace platform — we do not perform, broker, or guarantee any vendor services. We are not a party to any agreement between a Client and a Vendor.
We do not endorse, verify (unless specifically stated via a verified badge), or warrant the quality, fitness, legality, or safety of any vendor listed on the Service. Clients are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before hiring a vendor.
4. Vendor Listings
4.1 Accuracy
Vendors are responsible for the accuracy of all information in their profile, including business name, contact information, service area, pricing, availability, and descriptions. You must keep your profile current. Knowingly providing false or misleading information is grounds for immediate removal.
4.2 Family-friendly standard
All vendors listed on the Service must meet our family-friendly standard. At minimum, this means your services and any content on your profile are appropriate for audiences that include children. We reserve the right to remove any listing that, in our sole judgment, does not meet this standard.
When you register as a vendor, you are required to complete at least one family-friendly profile prompt. Your responses are displayed on your profile and are a material part of your listing. Submitting a filler or insincere response that does not genuinely describe your services is grounds for profile rejection or removal.
4.3 Vendor photos and media
Photos and other media uploaded to your vendor profile must depict your actual services and events. Media must not contain nudity, graphic violence, or content inappropriate for a family audience. We reserve the right to remove non-compliant media without notice. By uploading photos or other media, you represent and warrant that you have obtained all consents and releases needed to display each identifiable person appearing in them, including the consent of a parent or legal guardian for any identifiable minor.
4.4 No impersonation
You may not create a vendor profile for a business you do not operate or represent. You may not impersonate another business or individual.
5. Client Conduct
Clients agree to:
- Contact vendors only for genuine event inquiries
- Not use the messaging system to send spam, solicitations, or harassing messages
- Provide accurate information in event requests and RFPs
- Leave reviews only for vendors with whom they have had a genuine service interaction
6. Content Standards
All content you submit to the Service — including profile descriptions, photos, reviews, messages, and any community content — must comply with the following standards. Content must not:
- Be false, misleading, or defamatory
- Harass, threaten, or demean any person or group
- Contain or promote illegal activity
- Infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
- Contain nudity, sexual content, graphic violence, or material inappropriate for a family audience
- Contain spam, commercial solicitations unrelated to legitimate event services, or phishing attempts
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these standards and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly or egregiously violate them. These standards are supplemented by our Content Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If these Terms and the Content Policy conflict, these Terms control.
7. Reviews
Reviews submitted by Clients are subject to the Content Standards in Section 6. Additionally:
- Reviews must reflect a genuine, first-hand service experience with the reviewed vendor
- You may not submit a review for your own business, for a competitor's business with the intent to harm them, or in exchange for payment or any other compensation
- Vendors may not solicit fake or incentivized reviews
We reserve the right to remove reviews that we determine, in our sole judgment, violate these rules or our Content Standards. Vendors who believe a review is false or defamatory may submit a dispute through our support system at [email protected].
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Our intellectual property
The Service, including its design, code, text, graphics, and compiled content, is owned by Family-Friendly Events LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our written permission.
8.2 Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service (your profile text, photos, reviews, etc.). By submitting content, you grant Family-Friendly Events a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with operating and promoting the Service.
This license ends when you delete your content or close your account, except that we may retain copies of removed content for a reasonable period as required for backup or legal purposes.
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to grant this license, and that your content does not infringe any third party's rights.
8.3 Copyright complaints (DMCA)
We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent that includes: (a) your physical or electronic signature; (b) identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed; (c) identification of the material you claim is infringing and where it is located on the Service (e.g., the profile name or URL); (d) your contact information; (e) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and (f) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Designated DMCA agent: Family-Friendly Events LLC Email: [email protected] 760 Warrior Dr., Suite 2-512, Stephens City, VA 22655
If we remove content in response to a valid notice, we will make a reasonable effort to notify the person who posted it, who may submit a counter-notification. We will terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
9. Paid Subscriptions (Vendors)
9.1 Subscription tiers
We offer free and paid vendor subscription tiers. Paid tiers provide enhanced profile visibility and additional features as described on the Service at the time of purchase. Tier names, features, and pricing are set out on the Service at the time of purchase and may change from time to time.
9.2 Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance, as selected at the time of purchase. All payments are processed by Stripe. By providing payment information you authorize us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
9.3 Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel your paid subscription at any time from your account settings. Your subscription will remain active through the end of the current paid period; we do not provide pro-rated refunds for mid-period cancellations.
9.4 Failed payments
If a payment fails, we will attempt to notify you and may retry the charge. If payment cannot be collected, your account may be downgraded to the free tier.
9.5 Price changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of a price increase via email to the address on your account. Your continued use of a paid subscription after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new price.
9.6 Non-profit and K–12 school discount
Verified 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, public K–12 schools, and accredited private K–12 schools are eligible for a permanent 25% discount on any paid subscription tier and any paid add-on, applied at the subscription level once eligibility is verified. The discount is opt-in per subscription and applies only when (a) the organization has been verified through our process (using IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search, National Center for Education Statistics records, or admin review of submitted documentation), and (b) you have established a verified affiliation with that organization (via fast-path organizational-domain email match or by submitting a letter on organizational letterhead signed by an authorized officer). You will be asked to attest that you are authorized to act on behalf of the organization for purposes of receiving the discount; misrepresentation of non-profit or school status, or of authorization to act on an organization's behalf, is grounds for account suspension and termination of the discount.
Eligibility is re-verified annually. If verification fails or your authorization to act on behalf of the organization changes, the discount will be removed at your next renewal cycle, never retroactively. For document-upload affiliations, we will provide reminder notifications at approximately 60 days, 30 days, and 7 days before the verification deadline so you have ample opportunity to provide updated documentation. These notifications are sent separately from any subscription renewal notifications to ensure they are not overlooked. If documentation is not received by the deadline, the discount lapses and may be re-applied through the standard eligibility flow if your organization continues to qualify.
The non-profit/school discount may not be combined with founding-vendor pricing on the same subscription; the larger discount applies. The non-profit/school discount may be combined with the annual billing discount.
10. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Scrape, index, or systematically download site content without our written permission
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from the Service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or network related to the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Create accounts by automated means or under false pretenses
- Use the Service to advertise or promote services that are not family-friendly
11. Moderation and Enforcement
We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to review, moderate, and remove any content on the Service, and to suspend or terminate any account, at any time and for any reason, including violation of these Terms. We will exercise this right in a manner consistent with our content moderation policies.
If your content is removed or your account is suspended, you may submit an appeal via our support system at [email protected]. We will review appeals in good faith, but our decision is final.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENTS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY VENDOR LISTING, REVIEW, OR OTHER CONTENT ON THE SERVICE.
YOU USE THE SERVICE AND ENGAGE WITH VENDORS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENTS LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU HAVE PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).
THE FOREGOING EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS DO NOT APPLY TO ANY LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR DAMAGES. IF THESE LAWS APPLY TO YOU, SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Family-Friendly Events LLC and its members, officers, employees, and contractors from and against any third-party claims, and any resulting damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third party's rights.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT REQUIRES MOST DISPUTES BETWEEN YOU AND US TO BE RESOLVED THROUGH BINDING INDIVIDUAL ARBITRATION RATHER THAN IN COURT AND WAIVES YOUR RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION. YOU MAY OPT OUT WITHIN 30 DAYS AS DESCRIBED IN SECTION 15.6.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
15.1 Informal resolution first
Before starting arbitration, you agree to contact us at [email protected] and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
15.2 Binding arbitration
Except for the carve-outs in Section 15.4, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its rules then in effect (its Consumer Arbitration Rules for consumer disputes, or its Commercial Arbitration Rules for vendor / business disputes), before a single arbitrator, and governed by the Federal Arbitration Act. The arbitration will take place in, or by videoconference from, Virginia, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. This Section survives termination of these Terms.
15.3 Class-action waiver
All disputes will be conducted on an individual basis only. You and Family-Friendly Events LLC waive any right to bring or participate in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action, or to act as a private attorney general, and the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims or preside over any class or representative proceeding. If this waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim alone will proceed in court and the remainder of this Section stays in effect.
15.4 Carve-outs
Notwithstanding the above: (a) either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies; (b) either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for actual or threatened infringement or misuse of intellectual property or confidential information; and (c) nothing here waives any right that cannot be waived under applicable law.
15.5 Coordinated / mass filings
If 25 or more arbitration demands raising similar claims are filed by or with the coordination of the same or coordinated counsel, the demands will be administered in staged batches — a small number of "bellwether" cases arbitrated first, with the results used to inform resolution of the remainder — and the AAA's mass-arbitration or supplementary fee rules then in effect will apply, to keep the process efficient and fair to both sides. If any portion of this Section 15.5 is found unenforceable, it is severable, the affected demands will proceed in individual arbitration, and the remainder of this Section 15 remains in effect.
15.6 30-day opt-out
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement (Sections 15.2–15.5) by emailing [email protected] within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Your opt-out notice must include your name and the email address associated with your account. If you opt out, disputes will instead be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Frederick County, Virginia, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page and notify you via email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes acceptance. If we make a material change to Section 15 (dispute resolution) or a change that otherwise materially reduces your rights, we will ask you to affirmatively accept the revised Terms, and until you do, the prior version continues to apply to you.
17. Termination
17.1 By you
You may close your account at any time by visiting your account settings. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund of any prepaid subscription amounts.
17.2 By us
We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms, at our sole discretion, with or without notice. We will generally provide notice and an opportunity to appeal except where immediate action is required to protect the Service or other users.
17.3 Effect of termination
Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends immediately. Sections 6, 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, and 18 survive termination.
18. Miscellaneous
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Content Policy, each of which is incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and Family-Friendly Events LLC regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it in the future.
Electronic communications. By using the Service or sending email to us, you consent to receive communications from us electronically — by email or by notices posted on the Service — and you agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures, and other communications we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
No agency. No joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you and Family-Friendly Events LLC as a result of these Terms or your use of the Service. We operate a directory and marketplace platform and are not the agent, partner, or representative of any vendor or client.
Assignment. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
