Privacy and your data
We aim to collect only what we need and to be clear about how it's used. This is a short overview — the Privacy Policy is the full, authoritative document.
What we collect
- Account details you provide: email, display name, username, and password.
- Recovery details, only if you add them: a recovery email and a recovery phone number. They're used only to help you back into your account; see Changing your email or password.
- Content you create: profiles, quote requests, reviews, and messages.
- Basic usage data needed to run and secure the site.
How it's used
We use your information to operate the directory, deliver your messages to vendors, keep the platform safe, and — with your consent — measure how the site is used. We do not sell your personal data.
Your controls
- Your public profile is off by default; you choose whether to turn it on.
- Analytics cookies load only after you accept them; you can change your choice any time from the Cookie Policy.
- You can download a copy of your data at any time (below), or ask us to delete it — see Deleting your account.
Downloading your data
Choose Download my data on your Account Settings page (vendors: your vendor account page) to get a copy of what we hold about your account, as a JSON file. It includes:
- Your account details (including any recovery email and phone, and an email change waiting to be confirmed), settings and notification choices, and the policies you agreed to.
- Your messages, both the ones you sent and the ones you received, with the other person's username and when each was sent and read.
- Your quote requests, reviews, saved vendors, events and searches, the events you submitted or co-plan, and the questions you've asked vendors.
- Reports you've filed, people you've blocked, your badges, and any organization-verification requests (the details, not the document you uploaded).
- For vendors: your profile, packages, FAQs, testimonials, the endorsements you've given, and the quote requests you've received. A quote request includes what the family wrote and their event details, but not their email address or phone number.
Things you've posted show their review status too (for example approved, pending or not approved).
A note for families
Accounts are for adults 18 and older. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle children's information.
